I have spent the last twelve years building and running infrastructure for classified DoD missions, from server rooms and network stacks to Azure, identity, virtualization, and a growing amount of edge and containerized workloads. Most of that work never gets written down anywhere public. This blog is where I start changing that.
What this is
A place to think out loud about the problems I actually work on:
- Cloud and hybrid infrastructure on Azure, from identity and networking to migration and operations.
- Edge AI, where I am spending more of my time lately: GPUs, inference at the edge, and the infrastructure that makes it reliable.
- Homelab builds, where I prototype the same patterns on my own hardware before they matter in production.
- Lessons from the field, the unglamorous parts of making systems dependable when there is no room to get it wrong.
Why write it down
Two reasons. First, writing forces clarity. If I cannot explain a design simply, I probably do not understand it well enough yet. Second, the best engineers I have learned from were generous with what they knew. This is a small way to return that.
What is next
I am building out a new lab focused on edge AI infrastructure, and I will document it here as it comes together, the good decisions and the wrong turns both. If that is the kind of thing you care about, check back.
